I'm not an art snob. In fact I'll take subversive and irreverant art over "the classics" anyday. When was the last time you looked at a Monet and laughed? Exactly.
One of my favorite painters alive today is Donald Roller Wilson. A surrealist and photo realistic painter who has great affection for Chimps, Dogs, Pickles, Match Sticks, and Cigarettes. Everything I love (except for the cigarettes.) His work is always charming, often funny, and always strangely poetic.
Rather popular with the Hollywood crowd, his paintings are definitely not cheap. But, his website now offers some limited run books through his gallery.
Please take the time to check out his crazy website.

Roller is one of the most freakin' brilliant artists known to man (and a couple of alien species). I'm glad to see there's someone else out there that appreciates his "lowbrow" yet technically brilliant style. He doesn't get enough props from the art community--what's up with that???

All I can say is WOW! I came across his website on accident but have seen some of his work but didn't know who he was. I have always loved monkeys for some unknown reason and have a quirky personality coming from MN but I related to his art and the pictures in an unexplainable way. I just Loved them, I'm going to dream of owning one someday. I Love Them!
