This pathway was built in 1901 to support water control projects the El Camino del Ray. It has fallen into disrepair, but that doesn't keep the daring from taking a leisurely stroll.
In case you're under a rock and haven't seen this yet. A really compelling slice of nature at Kruger National Park in South Africa. Worth the 8 minutes, I promise (and do watch until the end.)
I hate reality TV. But the only reality show I watch also happens to be my absolute favorite TV right now. Man Vs Wild. Bear Grylls takes on survival in a different location each episode.
Bear is fucking nuts (but in a good way.) He's not wrestling crocs like Steve Irwin for no real reason. He's simply demonstrating what a human must do to survive under some of the worst environments on the planet.
All I can say is every episode contains moments where I yell out "No" "Wow" "Holy Shit!" and "Ohhhh." I find it educational and extremely entertaining. The Discovery Channel no longer just rocks on Shark Week.
(Thanks: Rob) (And many many Thanks: Adam for demanding I watch the show!)
"It pushed me through the bush, its tusks piercing my body, before it picked me up and tossed me into the air."
The amazingly scary tale of Wendy Martin, who was attacked by a very pissed off elephant at a Kenya game preserve 7 years ago. Incredibly she survived but at an astronomical price. Unfortunately, her recent lawsuit settlement with the lodge owner doesn't even come close to making up for the suffering. (Obviously, I'm an American.)
Warning - this video is great. But not like you think. Nothing really happens for 4 minutes. What does happen is, you get a fantastic slice of life in a Tokyo sushi bar at midnight. The author places his videocamera on the conveyor belt that works it's way around the bar. That simple. Surprisingly cinematic.
